The classic life jacket for the more experienced swimmer. The problem with standard life jackets is that they are bulky and cumbersome, and they can’t hold their shape well when wet. This is where the Dog Flotation Jacket comes in (a.k.a. the Dog Life Jacket). It’s a new type of life jacket that has been designed to be worn by your dog while swimming in water (fresh water springs, rivers, ponds, the ocean etc.). The Pet Life Jacket comes with an adjustable girth size so you can adjust its fit to your dog’s body size. The design also allows you to easily remove it from your dog when he or she is ready to go back into the water; turning it into a swimsuit for you both!
One handle or two? The medium and larger jackets are purposefully designed with two handles as one handle will not sufficiently support the dogs weight when they’re wet, causing the jacket to tear. Sizes small and under are for dogs 8Kg and under, but when adding the weight of the wet jacket and the wet fur it is still possible to reinforce the handle enough to accommodate the weight of the dog. However for jackets Medium and up this is no longer possible as the combined weight is just too much. Please see the product pictures for more.

There are two main types of life jackets used in conjunction with floating devices: floatation devices and buoyancy aids.
- Floatation devices, also called floats, are designed to increase buoyancy so that they can be safely thrown overboard and retrieved by swimmers on land.
- Bouncy aids, such as inflatable rafts and vest-style floats, are designed to help a swimmer who has lost control of his or her body position remain afloat without assistance from other swimmers (i.e., without needing to swim) or assistance from shorelines.
The Purpose of the Life Jacket is a life jacket for dogs. Designed to assist your dog in getting in or out of water and assist as a floatation device. The life jacket will help your pet to float.
Your dog may be able to swim a certain distance, but you wouldn’t want him to get too ocean friendly during his workout by tacking too close to the boat or going out too far from the shore. For example, if you take him out at night, he may find himself unable to swim back if he falls in or gets caught up in a wave while swimming and rolling around in the water.
Of course, this is assuming that your dog doesn’t have any health issues that put his ability to swim into question (e.g., arthritis). It may also depend on how well-trained your dog is — he may be better off on land than swimming with you. Finally, it could be that he just isn’t cut out for it; he just doesn’t have enough confidence in his swimming skills for him to take off with you and escape from danger as quickly as possible should something go wrong; you’d want him to keep afloat!

Hello, the sizing is very strange! I bought the XSmall but it was very tight and I followed your size guidance. I then purchased the Small which looks like an XLarge next to the XSmall. I am not sure if there was a mistake when they sized it. The Small fits as I can tighten it around his girdle. Will it be possible to return the Xsmall please. The jacket itself is very secure with a double fastening system which ensures that your dog is confident to swim and even walk about when not in the water. I like the handle on top, helps when to guide them while swimming too deep. Red and yellow are nice colours to have as this is very visible as well.

Product quality was completely up to expectations. However the lifejacket is too small. My dog is a Toy Pom. The sizing guidelines were adhered to on placing the order. eg. X-Small jacket is for dogs up to 4Kg, my dog weighs 2,7Kg. The side flaps don’t overlap on the underside, the straps are at full length adjustment and still uncomfortably tight on the dog. Just in case I got it wrong I took my dog to physio therapy this morning and they confirmed my concern on sizing. If it fitted it would have got a full five rating because the mahufactured quility and design is excellent.
